Priests at St Edward's

There have been many priests who have served St Edward's over the years. The full chronology is not well understood but the incumbents are believed to have been:

2007 - Fr Dylan James
2006 - 2007 Fr Kieran McGuinness
2000 - 2006 Fr Brian Reeves
1999 - 2000 Fr Gilmour McDermott
1947 - 1999 Fr Ernest Jeanneau MBE
1946 - 1947 Fr Mollé
1928 - 1946 Fr George Donzé
1912 - 1928 Mgr Edwin Philip Harcourt
1898 - 1912*

Father Jerome Boutin

Father René Roger

Father Pierre Sivienne

Father Paul Chapleau

1895 - 1898* Fathers Féron, Rouviere, Baron, Beaud, Ward, Dodard & Grillet and local boy, Father Cross.

* The history of this period is somewhat unclear. It appears that all six priests were involved in the running of the parish during this period but it is not clear whether they rotated the duties while living in Shaftesbury (and escaping persecution in France) or whether they were 'rotated' between Shaftesbury and En-Calcat in France. It is even unclear as to whether they were members of FMI or Benedictines or neither! If you can shed any light on the very early history then please do get in touch with Father Dylan.
